The Owen County Soil & Water Conservation District’s 2017 Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, February 23rd at the Abram Farm Event Venue at 380 State Road 43. All community members are invited to attend this event to celebrate conservation and learn about the SWCD’s 2016 accomplishments and exciting new 2017 projects.
Members of the SWCD Board will direct the meeting with special presentations from the SWCD Director, Natural Resources Conservation Service District Conservationist, State Soil Conservation Board member, MYPath Project Coordinator, and Owen Valley FFA members.
Doors will open at 5:30 pm and the meeting will begin at 6:00 pm. The dinner buffet includes a wonderful spread of brisket, buns, baked potato bar and chili sure to warm your mid-winter bones prepared by Kimberly Hale of Rice’s Family Catering. Drinks, homemade desserts, and coffee are also included. Tickets to this family friendly event will be sold in advance and cost $10.00 to cover expenses. Please reserve your tickets by Monday, February 13th. You can pick up and pay for your reserved tickets at the door.
If your business is interested in sponsoring the 2017 Annual Meeting, your donation will help pay for free meals to FFA student volunteers and other expenses. Helping defray the costs of the Annual Meeting allows the SWCD to use their budget for landowner cost-share assistance, outreach and education, and other community projects.
